Is it easy for you to say “I’m sorry” to your kids when you blow it? Rose Mary suggested we talk about this because her parents believed it was a sign of weakness. Actually, it is a sign of weakness. Don’t tune out—let me explain. The weakness is we are human and because of that we’re prone to sin. Can we sin against our kids? Absolutely. As a parent who’s made a lot of mistakes, I’ve said those words a lot. Frankly, it’s something the Bible commands us to do. “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16 ESV).
I’m sorry. I blew it. Will you forgive me?
